APEX release

When the first official Oracle APEX event in Indonesia outgrew the room at Oracle’s Jakarta office, it set the tone for what followed. Between 28 September and 8 October, the Oracle APEX AI Roadshow 2026 ASEAN Edition travelled from Jakarta to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, welcoming 224 attendees in total.

Organised with the APAC Oracle User Groups Community (APACOUC), the roadshow brought Oracle APEX specialists together with local developers, architects, IT leaders, customers and partners. Each stop paired product sessions and live demonstrations with customer and partner perspectives, and left time for questions.

The goal was practical: show how the new capabilities in Oracle APEX 26.1 help teams build enterprise applications faster, while keeping governance, security and trusted data central.

A product story built around practice

Attendees explored how new capabilities connect to real development work:

  • APEXlang: a human-readable way to express application intent that developers and AI agents can both work with.
  • AI Agents: agents that use application context and trusted data to support tasks inside an application.
  • AI Interactive Reports: natural-language data exploration that stays within the access rules the application already defines.
  • Agentic workflows and data strategy: real-world examples, and the data platform foundations needed for dependable AI.

The mix made the roadshow a place to test what AI can do in enterprise development, and to see where strong data, clear permissions and human judgement still matter.

Jakarta, Indonesia: A historic first, a full house

28 September  ·  89 attendees

Jakarta opened the series with the largest turnout of the tour. For the first official Oracle APEX event in Indonesia, it was a strong opening signal that local teams are ready to engage with AI through hands-on examples and peer exchange.

Singapore: From Ideas to Production

2 October  ·  40 attendees

In Singapore, sessions tied APEX 26.1 features to the questions teams face in production: what context an agent can use, how data access stays governed, and where natural-language reporting fits into existing applications.

Demonstrations and open discussion gave attendees room to test assumptions, compare approaches, and ask how AI features can work alongside established business logic and security controls.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Where exchange became momentum

5 October  ·  30 attendees

The Kuala Lumpur stop brought customer and partner perspectives into the product discussion. In a public event update, Oracle’s Adnan Akbar described strong turnout and engagement from product managers, partners, customers, community members and colleagues.

That mix linked what APEX 26.1 can do with what organisations need to put it to work: trusted data, clear controls and repeatable ways for developers and AI agents to collaborate.

Bangkok, Thailand: A strong finish

8 October  ·  65 attendees

Bangkok closed the tour as the second-largest stop, completing the four-city itinerary. Across the route, the team held to one consistent theme while making room for local questions, examples and connections: AI is most useful in enterprise applications when capability is matched with trusted data, meaningful controls and a clear business purpose.

Next stop: Australia and New Zealand

The roadshow now moves to ANZ. The Oracle APEX product management team will be at two events in the coming weeks, so come and meet the team in person.

AUSOUG Connect 2026: Perth on 23 November and Melbourne on 25 November. Register for AUSOUG Connect or visit ausoug.org.au.

Tūtahi: NZOUG 2026: Auckland on 27 November. Reserve your spot at NZOUG or visit nzoug.org.

A regional community ready to build

The four stops added up to more than a travelling agenda. They created a shared regional conversation about using AI to speed up application development responsibly, and gave practitioners fresh examples, peers to learn from and concrete ideas to take back to their own Oracle APEX environments.

To everyone who joined us in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand: thank you for bringing real questions, experience and energy. The next chapter is the work that follows: prototyping useful applications, learning from users and keeping trusted data at the centre. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

Keep the conversation going
