Recently, I had the opportunity to attend the BLUEPRINT 4D Conference in Dallas, Texas that took place between May 8-11th. Divided into five categories (Database & Technology, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, Cloud Applications, and Oracle Commerce), BLUEPRINT 4D serves as a collaborative platform with almost 500 sessions, bringing together Oracle customers, product teams, and partner community to foster learning, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities.

Attendees can stay informed about the latest updates, explore new features through live product demos, and expand their Oracle network by connecting with fellow Oracle customers and partners.

I arrived on the eve of the conference, which was hosted at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas. Although I was tired from the air travel, I found myself in a comfortable venue, eagerly anticipating reconnecting with numerous old friends and colleagues. I quickly realized why Dallas was considered an ideal location for conferences, with its thriving business community, excellent transportation links, and wide range of attractions and amenities.

The conference began the next day, where I had the opportunity to present three sessions on the topics, Histograms, Multitenant, and 19c New Features. I also got to manage Oracle’s LiveLabs. and oversee SIG meetings with ACE director Biju Thomas.

In between, I was lucky to attend several enlightening sessions, including Oracle Product Manager Sean Stacey’s “Oracle Database: What’s New, What’s Next,” and fellow Oracle ACEs presentations, such as Roger Cornejo’s “Insights on the Advisor Framework for Performance Tuning,” and Simon Pane’s “The ABCs of APEX Administration – For Oracle DBAs.” These sessions ran concurrently with eight to twelve other sessions, so there was something to match everyone’s interests!

The time not spent in sessions was spent reconnecting with the Oracle community. I spent the first night of the conference at a dinner with other ACE members – a huge thank you to the Oracle ACE team for organizing the ACE dinner!

BluePrint4D was an incredibly fulfilling experience, with great opportunities, learning experiences, and networking. BluePrint4D 2024 will be in Dallas again, from May 7-10th – if you have the opportunity to attend next year, I highly recommend it!
