There are over 400 Oracle ACEs globally, all with a wide range of stories to tell and technical knowledge to share. We want to introduce you to some of these incredible ACEs and their stories, so we will be highlighting an Oracle ACE member every month or even more often in our Oracle ACE Spotlight series.
Today we would like to introduce you Andreea Kennel, an Oracle ACE Pro who has been a member of the Oracle ACE Program since 2020.
Dr Andrea Kennel studied computer science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) and added a PhD in computer science. In her more than 25 years of professional experience, she has always combined practice and teaching. Since 2014, Andrea is a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Brugg/Windisch (www.fhnw.ch), where she is responsible for database lectures in computer science and data science.
Andrea Kennel learned about the Oracle ACE Program many years ago and was encouraged to apply by her husband – this gave her the opportunity to travel more and to talk more at conferences.
She loves the networking, getting to know how life is in other countries and expanding her view of the world. Andrea still remembers the first presentation she held at DOAG – although she was nervous, she felt welcomed. And she never stopped doing it. In fact, her recommendation for other women is to “do what you love, dare it, try it”.
Listen to our conversation to discover more on why she joined the Oracle ACE Program and why curiosity, continuous learning and networking are great attributes for anyone who wants to grow his or her career.
