Do you like Green Eggs and Ham?

I do not like green eggs and ham.

The emails around using wikis.sun.com to present information reminds me of this wonderful children's book, Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss.

Some of the concerns around using the wiki are the loss of PDF files and the loss of control over the information. First of all, I must stress that you have the ability to create a PDF in the wiki. Secondly, the wiki has a number of permission options that allow us to control who can contribute on which pages. And, we are notified of every change.

Why green eggs and ham, I mean a wiki? Our intent with this new information strategy is provide you with both quality, non-tainted task oriented procedure that you can count on as well as have an ability to provide feedback, contribute your best practices and procedures. Traditionally, data centers have been behind closed doors, and I am sure many of you have short cuts, items of interest and other types of contributions that would be of great value in sharing. We live in an open world, so why not share your non-private information with your peers?

The heart of where we are going with the information strategy is to use tools that will let you personalize your information set, annotate your information, and determine the updates that you receive. Sure we have ways to go, but I know the power of Sun's employees, partners and other community members can really pull this together. My team is looking for you to continue to provide feedback and recommend enhancements to the information system.

At this time I would like to introduce you to the newly formed Sun xVM Ops Center information team:

Laura Hartman, Lead Writer

Jeff Ferreira, Installation and Configuration

Shanthi Srinivasan, Management and Update

Owen M. Allen, Information Community Publisher

Dwayne Wolff, Media Designer

Jeff Ramsey, Media Designer

Judy Hall, IPG Manger (US)

Geetha Nazare, IPG Manager (IEC)

Lastly, in the spirit of Green Eggs and Ham, you have your information with tutorial, with a video, with a podcast, with a PDF... oh Sam-I-Am...

Cheers, Judy
