Sun xVM Ops Center 1.1 Installation - How do I do it?

Ok, so you know that the Sun xVM Ops Center installation procedures are all found under the Installation - Sun xVM Ops Center 1.1 page, but you still have questions about where to start, and how to get through a complete installation. Let's see if we can sort this out.

You'll first want to check if your system conforms to the recommended specifications found on the System Requirements page. There we list the hardware and operating system requirements for successful Sun xVM Ops Center installation.

Given that your system checks out, you'd then go on to the Preparing a System for Sun xVM Ops Center Installation page. Here you'll need to choose the procedures that meet your needs. For example, if you're installing Sun xVM Ops Center on a system that will run RHEL 5.0, you'll need to use the RHEL 5.0 Installation for Sun xVM Ops Center procedure to set up that system. Then, for either Solaris or RHEL 5.0 systems, you'd want to check your system resources against the two OS-specific pages below the Verifying System Resources page.

Then, with your OS installed and system resources verified, you'll want to get the software and install it. To do this, go to the Installation and Configuration page, and run through the top four procedures, or sets of procedures, listed there. These describe how you can obtain Sun XVM Ops Center software, and install and configure the server, proxy, and agent components that it requires.

That'll get your systems prepared, verified, and installed. Once you use Sun xVM Ops Center to discover your gear, you'll be ready to go.
