Collaborate 11: Summary & Reactions

We just wrapped up attending the Collaborate 11 Conference in Orlando, FL last week! We started off the week with our Customer Advisory Board meeting on Sunday. We had a great day meeting and hearing feedback from our customers. St John's River Water Management District also gave a great talk to our Customer Advisory Board members on how ECM has brought about culture change in their organization.

Overall, we had a great week attending sessions and meeting with customers and partners. Probably one of our most popular Oracle sessions was one that Michelle Huff and Peter Moskovits presented. Their session was "The Secret to Building Fusion Applications: Oracle ADF & WebCenter". Michelle gave a great overview of the background of how Oracle came to develop Fusion Applications and Peter demonstrated how to build custom components using ADF and WebCenter. This was definitely a hot topic with the attendees, as the room was packed!

In between attending sessions for 4 days, we also managed to squeeze in some fun! Oracle specialized ECM and WebCenter partner Fishbowl Solutions threw a great customer reception on Tuesday evening. These guys not only know their portal, content management and collaboration technologies, but they also know how to have a good time!

We also were able to head to Universal Studios Islands of Adventure on Wednesday evening. Lots of fun rollercoaster rides and good food were had by all!

Did you attend Collaborate 11? What were some of your highlights?

It was a great event, even if the only time I had to sleep was during the Fishbowl party :-) Thanks to Fishbowl for such a fun bash! Thanks to all of our customers who presented on their implementations - I learned a lot as always. And thanks to all the new folks who came over to see what Oracle ECM Suite and Oracle WebCenter Suite are all about. There are a lot of great use cases in integrating with E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, Siebel, and JD Edwards, and we look forward to working with you on those!
