More Developers to Join OWB Blog

David Allan's posts have been a major part of making the OWB Blog a must-read for our users. Soon, though, he will be joined by more members of our development staff, who will be bringing you more how-tos and insights into OWB 11.2 features that help you get the most value out of the tool.

The first of these should be up shortly-- keep an eye out for it.

Hello:
Greetings. I need your help to solve an installation issue. I installed Oracle 11gR2 in Windows Vista Home Premium - 64 bit. I expected to work with the OWB that comes along with the install. But the design center would not open at all. Is this some know issue? Is there a work around? Is there any issue with installing in Vista Home Premium or 64 bit version? Many of my collegues are facing same issue and we are not able to convince the management to go with OWB. Any help / inputs from the experts will be appreciated.
Thank you
Krishna

Hi,

In my project, the Virtual desktops(Rmote desktop connections) have just been installed with OWB 11gR2, However the existing database(server side) in all environment is 10gR2. For accessing all the mappings in old database 10gR2 do I have to migrate/upgrade the repository from 10gR2 to 11gR2? Is there any way I can access all the mappings and objects present on 10gR2 database from 11gR2 without any upgrade and migration of repository?

Please reply.

Thanks
Atif

Hi Atif

No you have to upgrade the backed repository to use a new major client release.

Cheers
