Day 1 of the JavaOne Author Chats and Day 2 Tomorrow!

JavaOne Author Chat sessions today were really great - thank you so much to the Sun Authors that participated: Darryl Gove, Eric Bruno, James Connors, Jim Clarke.

Darryl's session on The Developer's Edge was the first session this morning and was wonderful! Here are the slides from the session and the transcript.

The JavaFX: Developing Rich Internet Applications session, with all three authors, included a video tutorial and chat - it was great! The video tutorial is here.

For both sessions, we will be posting the audio/slides/video on Sun Learning Exchange.

Please join us tomorrow, June 4th, for two more JavaOne Author Chats where the authors talk about their new books and expertise. They will then have a dialog with all of you! John Jainschigg, Exec. Director, Internet and Community Lab, ZiffDavisEnterprise, Inc., will be joining the sessions and facilitating/interviewing the authors. Join in the fun and learn directly from these expert authors!

Employees Connect Chat Series Welcomes IBM's Chuck Hamilton

The Sun in Second Life Core team yesterday arranged for a learning session with IBM' Chuck Hamilton (IBM Learning). This was for Sun employees only and a follow-up to some information sharing sessions Sun did last year with IBM. We hope to continue to learn from each other on the value of learning in virtual worlds and for global organizations like Sun and IBM.

It was a great session - Chuck shared with us his view of the future of learning, some projects going on at IBM (at a high level) and then we took a tour of some of the IBM public locations. We all talked via chat and voice throughout the session and learned a lot.

Thanks again Chuck and we look forward to having additional information sharing and collaboration sessions together!
