ADF Mobile Development - Introduction

What is ADF Mobile?

ADF Mobile Development and ADF Essentials are the new two new features that comes handy with JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0. With ADF Mobile we can develop and deploy ADF application to mobile devices as native applications. ADF Mobile supports Android and iOS environment.

How to install ADF Mobile?

ADF Mobile is currently supported only in JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0. From Oracle Extensions page you can download the ADF Mobile Extension and it can be installed manually as an extension for JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0. Or you can check for Updates from the Help menu to install it from JDeveloper IDE.

Direct Installation:

  1. Download and install JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
  2. Download the ADF Mobile Extension.
  3. Open JDeveloper and Go to Help - > Check for Updates. Click Next button to see the Source section
  4. Select Install from Local File option.
  5. Browse and locate the mobile extension that was downloaded as part of step 2 in the File Name section.
  6. Click Next and read the License statement and click on the I Agree button.
  7. Click Next and Finish.
  8. Restart the JDeveloper.
  9. Make sure that you can see Mobile Application (ADF) item in the Application Section under General by navigating to File -> New - Current Project Features tab.

Installation from Update Center:

  1. Download and install JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
  2. Configure HTTP Proxy if needed from Tools - > Preferences -> Web Browser and Proxy section.
  3. Open JDeveloper and Go to Help - > Check for Updates. Click Next button to see the Source section.
  4. Select Search update Centers
  5. Select Official Oracle Extensions and Updates
  6. Click Next and select ADF Mobile 11.1.2.3.39.62.94.
  7. Click Next and read the License statement and click on the I Agree button.
  8. Click Next and Finish.
  9. Restart the JDeveloper.
  10. Make sure that you can see Mobile Application (ADF) item in the Application Section under General by navigating to File -> New - Current Project Features tab.
