Oracle Solaris 11 offers a new feature called the Integrated Load Balancer (ILB). To find out more on this capability, and how to set up and configure ILB from scratch join a hands on lab I'm hosting at the Oracle Open World 2013 called Oracle Solaris Integrated Load Balancer in 60 Minutes [HOL10181]
The objective of this lab is to demonstrate how Oracle Solaris Integrated Load Balancer (ILB) provides an easy and fast way of deploying a load balancing system. Various Solaris 11 technologies such as Zones, ZFS and Networking Virtualization are used in order to create a virtual "data center " in the box in order to test different load balancing scenarios.
During this session, you are going to configure and use ILB inside an Oracle Solaris Zone, to balance the load towards three Apache Tomcat web servers running a simple Java Server Page (JSP) application specially developed for this lab.
