GlassFish Integration Changes for NB 6.7 M2
By vbkraemer on Feb 10, 2009
We are making a few changes in the server integration modules for GlassFish v3 Prelude for NetBeans 6.7.
- Point to ML release for download
In the NetBeans 6.5 release of the GlassFish v3 Prelude integration, you would download the most recent GlassFish v3 Prelude promoted bits, from a URL that looked similar to this: http://download.java.net/glassfish/v3-prelude/promoted/glassfish-v3-plugin.zip. The URL of the downloaded bits has switched to http://download.java.net/glassfish/v3-prelude/release/glassfish-v3-prelude-ml.zip in NetBeans 6.7 builds.
- Java Properties
In Netbeans 6.5, the 'java' used to start the IDE was the 'java' used to start the server. The debug transport was hard-coded to use the socket transport. While both of these decisions worked, they limited flexibility. In NetBeans 6.7, we have extended the integration to allow users more choices. Folks on Windows will be able to select and use the shared memory transport for debugging. All users will be able to select a custom 'java' executable for running the server. If the user doesn't select a custom Java exceutable, the java that is used for the IDE is used for the server, just like in 6.5.
