The BIG immigration announcement

It seems like the announcement went over a lot of heads. The only way an immigrant worker ID card could work is if it was carried by ALL people. It isn't an ID card, it is a privilege-to-work card.

Another thing to note: the only people who can employ someone would be the people who can afford to buy the privilege-to-work card reader gizmo. This is great news for the shareholders of card-reader gizmo companies. The burden of buying one of these gizmos may be the final straw for some small businesses.

So goes the 'nation

I am happy to report that the fans of Stephen Colbert (The Colbert Nation) have been successful at googlebombing 'witty irony' to its rightful heir. I was worried that it may never happen, but the Correspondent's Dinner really brought Stephen (and my googlebombing proposal) the support that it needed.

To those who saw my proposal and responded: Thank You.

Witty Ironic Observations

Folks may have noticed that I haven't been very blogative these last few days. I was on obligation...

I was in the Washington D.C. area, which is is full of irony...

But I did see something that was worthy of notice from the perspective of witty irony, that I thought that I should share.

I was driving down one of the many freeways, and saw an sign that said:

NSA
Employees Only

Why is this ironic? Despite the fact that the NSA is a pretty hush-hush kind of organization, I would think that its employee's would be able to find the exit to their offices without a huge sign...

But the irony doesn't stop there...

When I got to the exit ramp for NSA Employees, it was coned off. Could this be an explination for some of the intelligence faux pas' that have plagued the current administration.

This Is My 60th Entry

I just noticed that a new entry would be my 60th. So, here is to 60. I hope my next 60 entries are "better" than these first 60.

Librarian punch lines...

A third grader walked into a library, eager to find a biography for for his book report assignment, due in a couple days. He walked up to the librarian with a list of possible candidates.

"Excuse me", the boy said to librarian.

"May I help you?", came the librarians reply.

"I am looking for a biography of Amelia Earhart, but I cannot find one".

"They seem to have disappeared," replied the librarian.

Everyone in the library started to laugh.

"Do you have any biographies of George Wishart?"

"No, an angry mob burned them."

Obviously, I am spending too much time compiling....

Belated Happy Pi day

I only saw one other Pi Day observer on the Sun blogs. While Dan links to poster and such. I want to leave you with a song.

I have to admit total ignorance of Pi day, until I heard about it this morning as I drove into work. And I am just left wondering, is there nothing that folks in college won't use as an excuse for a party....
