The latest release of Oracle VM Server for SPARC 3.1.1 was announced recently. It has extended Single Root I/O virtualization (SR-IOV) benefits beyond Ethernet and Infiniband devices by adding support for Fibre Channel devices. In addition, it provides the ability to control the amount of physical network bandwidth consumed by virtual network devices, thus prevents guest domains from consuming excess bandwidth.
