Friday Spotlight: DevOps and the Cloud

One of the biggest and most exciting trends we've been seeing amongst customers, and the industry as a whole, is the parallel rise of DevOps and Microservices for cloud development. Linux, virtualization and of course Docker have become the key foundational elements for these next generation Cloud Native application architectures, whether deployed on-premise or in the public cloud.

We've had some exciting announcements here too in the Virtualization and Linux teams with more to come. Most recently we've just launched the Oracle Container Registry where you can pull many of Oracle's software platforms including MySQL, Oracle Database 12c, Oracle WebLogic and of course Oracle Linux itself.

If you want to get started with some light DevOps and Infrastructure as Code check out the Oracle DevOps Blog. We have a new and developing series using the ever popular Oracle VM VirtualBox with Vagrant as a Docker foundation.

Developers have always been critical constituents for Oracle, and we're rolling out a worldwide Developer and DevOps-centric roadshow, Oracle Code.  Sign up to be notified when the Oracle Code registration opens for your location.
