The Oracle Linux team is collaborating with Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu, to allow customers who wish to run Oracle Linux as a guest inside an Ubuntu OpenStack environment and to do so in a supported way. It is important for us to provide choice and interoperability around OpenStack. Oracle and Canonical are committed to supplying interoperability by supporting Oracle Linux on Ubuntu OpenStack.
As we have said in the past, while Oracle provides solutions for OpenStack, Linux, and virtualization, Oracle also wants to help ensure that customers can receive the same world class support when running Oracle Linux on virtually any platform. Our goal is to continue to provide customers with the best-in-class products and solutions and a great customer experience.
Wow! Ubuntu, Canonical and Linux - it's very great!
It would be great to also add support for Ubuntu on Oracle Sun Servers. I'm unable to install Ubuntu 14.04 on X4-2... we're considering using another manufacturer.
Thomas,
Please work with your Oracle and Canonical account teams to discuss hardware support for Ubuntu on bare metal.
