Simon Coter
Senior Manager, Oracle Linux and Virtualization Product Management

Oracle has released VirtualBox 5.0 Maintenance Release 6.

This release is a major improvement which include a large number of changes and bug fixes; between the others I would like to mention big improvements we did on Microsoft Windows 10 RTM (Release 10240) platform ( as guest and host platform ) and, at the same time, further important steps on the new OS X platform, officially released by Apple not more than two days ago. MAC OS X 10.11 El-Capitan, starting from VirtualBox 5.0.6 release is officially supported as host platform.

See all the details here with a complete list of bug fixes; here you can find all the links to download the software.

Why don't write support Win10 in the Changelog?

I would like to ask if vboxnet0 was replaced by virbr0. I have Virtualbox 5.0.6 installed on Ubuntu 15.04 Server.

    Thank you

    Hi Jesus,

nothing has changed related to networking.

If you had "vboxnet0" on an older release, you should have the same interface-name also on 5.0.6.

Oracle VM v5.0.8 is the first i had my very old music program run smoothly without hiccups continuously, even finishing some customized layout for final printing. This version (hopefully) free me from assembling old stuff for windows XP hardware/software compatibility.

Thanks Oracle VM team for making this to happen.
