Announcing Oracle VM release 3.4.6.3

Oracle VM Server Virtualization software is engineered for open cloud infrastructure and delivers leading performance, scalability and reliability for enterprise SaaS/PaaS workloads as well as traditional enterprise applications. Today we are pleased to announce Oracle VM Manager release 3.4.6.3.

What's New with Oracle VM release 3.4.6.3?

Oracle VM release 3.4.6.3 offers an updated Oracle VM Manager (3.4.6 Build 2622) with new feature support, and security updates and cumulative bug fixes since the previous 3.4.6.2 release. The notable updates in the Oracle VM Manager 3.4.6.3 release are:

  • Export VMs to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI): Using the new Oracle VM Exporter Appliance, users will be able to migrate their Virtual Machines from their OVM environment into OCI. A new OVM Exporter Appliance is available on the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud that can be imported into OVM and then used to create an Exporter Appliance Virtual Machine. Users can select any of their VMs from the Manager User Interface and the Exporter Appliance VM will convert the selected VM into the OCI format and move the memory and vdisks into their tenancy account in OCI.
  • April 2020 Critical Patch Updates added for embedded components:
    • MySQL
    • Oracle WebLogic Server
    • Oracle Java

With Oracle VM Release 3.4.6.3,  the Oracle VM Server and Oracle VM Agent for SPARC are unchanged:

  • For Oracle VM Server, the build version 3.4.6-2105 must be installed, then packages can be updated using the appropriate channels of the Oracle VM repository on the Unbreakable Linux Network (ULN) or the Oracle Linux yum server.
  • The Oracle VM Agent for SPARC is not updated with this release and remains at the 3.4.6.2 release level.
