Announcing Oracle VM release 

Oracle VM Server virtualization software is engineered for open cloud infrastructure and delivers leading performance, scalability, and reliability for enterprise SaaS and PaaS workloads as well as traditional enterprise applications.  Today, we are pleased to announce Oracle VM release

What's New with Oracle VM release

Oracle VM release offers an updated Oracle VM Manager with security updates and cumulative bug fixes since the previous release. The notable updates in the Oracle VM Manager release are:

  • Additional Linux guest OS support—Oracle Linux 8.x, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.x, and CentOS 8.x guest operating systems are now supported
  • MySQL—October 2019 Critical Patch Update (CPU)
  • Oracle WebLogic Server—October 2019 CPU
  • Oracle Java—October 2019 CPU

The Oracle VM Agent for SPARC release includes cumulative bug fixes since the previous release.

With Oracle VM Release a new release model was established, which resulted in the following changes to the release process:

Oracle VM Software Download 

Oracle VM can be downloaded, used, and distributed free of charge and all updates and errata are freely available. Instructions to download the Oracle VM Release 3.4.6, Oracle VM Windows PV drivers, tools, and utilities can be found on the Oracle VM Downloads page on oracle.com.

Oracle VM Support offers access to award-winning Oracle support resources and virtualization support specialists, zero-downtime updates using Ksplice, additional management tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, and lifetime support, all at a low cost.

Oracle continues to support the Oracle VM 3.x releases according to the Oracle VM Lifetime Support Policy.
