Announcing Oracle VM Manager 3.4.6.1 errata release

Oracle VM Server virtualization software is engineered for open cloud infrastructure and delivers leading performance, scalability, and reliability for enterprise SaaS and PaaS workloads as well as traditional enterprise applications.

What's new with the Oracle VM Manager 3.4.6.1 errata release?

The Oracle VM Manager errata release adds in the Weblogic patch for CVE-2019-2729.  This is the only change from the 3.4.6.1 Manager release announced on June 18, 2019

Errata release download

This errata release is Build 2265 and it has replaced the previous Build 2207 that was first posted for Oracle VM release 3.4.6.1.  The Manager software ISO's available from My Oracle Support, Oracle Technology Network and Oracle Software Delivery Cloud have all been updated to Build 2265.

Customers that already upgraded to Build 2207 can do a simple Manager upgrade with Build 2265 to patch their Manager.

Instructions to download the Oracle VM Release 3.4.6 can be found on the Oracle Technology Network.

    Hello John,

First of all, thank you for your blog-posts.

My question is not really about this particular blog but I looking for some answers regarding future releases of OVM. I know that 3.4.6 is in Premier Support until 2021 but will there be a new release or will KVM take over as the Virtualization platform for Oracle? The recent adoption of KVM as a Hard-Partitioning platform would suggest that.

    Regards,

    Hello Wierd van der Haar,

The Oracle VM 3.4.6 patch update releases will continue, but take a look at the following: https://blogs.oracle.com/virtualization/getting-started-with-oracle-linux-virtualization-manager

And please contact your Oracle sales manager if you would like a server virtualization roadmap review session.
