Is Supply Chain Planner (SCP) Supported for r12?

Jeff Goulette
Sr Technical Director
We would like to use MRP Planning for one of our requirements.  We heard Oracle suggesting customers move to Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) instead of implementing MRP planning and asking for exception approval to for extended support of MRP issues.  We are using r12 now.

Exception approval process is for customers who are on de-supported version of the product.  So you would not qualify.  Currently the exception process is needed for product version 11.5.9, 11.5.10 and 12.0.4 and lower.

Please refer to below note:

Is Supply Chain Planner (SCP) Supported? (Answer: No) (Doc ID 2689355.1)

and the Oracle life time support policy for further details, the link to which is embedded in the notes:

ANNOUNCEMENTS: E-Business Suite 12.1 Premier Support Now Through Dec. 2021 and 11.5.10 Sustaining Support Exception Updates (Doc ID 1495337.1)
Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10: Sustaining Support & the Sustaining Support Exception (Doc ID 1608869.1)

Having said that ASCP is far more advanced and sophisticated.  Customers performing fresh implementations are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to choose ASCP over MRP.  Also, please note that no new enhancements are being offered for MRP.

Hope the above helps and answers your query.
