UPK Premier Support Extended to December 2022

As part of Oracle's continued commitment to provide the industry's leading Support offering, and to satisfy the the strong demand from customers, partners and the entire UPK community, the Premier Support end date for Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK) 12.1 has been extended from April 2019 to December 2022.

This update is reflected in the Lifetime Support Policy: Oracle Applications brochure within the Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK) – Standard & Professional table, and has been published on the UPK product site.

This announcement is applicable only to the 12.1.x product versions. Oracle plans to release patches and service packs on the 12.1 code base on a regular basis during the extended support period.

That's good news, but we would still like to know what are Oracles recommendation for way forward
  • Tamas Szvitacs Thursday, July 12, 2018
Since UPK remains a supported product, there is no specific recommendation at this time.

Any updates on the path forward for UPK, or a solution to replace UPK.

    Thank you,

    Charlie

A solution to replace UPK by another Oracle product is being worked out. Details will be communicated as they get ready for the public, well before the 2022 date.

Is there a possibility to know new functionality or have the ability to suggest functionality? (ie ability of tracking how many times a specific link had been hit.) We currently use UPK and have close to 20,000 individual links.

    Thank you,

    Charlie

UPK is on support/maintenance, no new functionality is planned.

    Hi Tamas

Could you maybe assist with these questions?

What am I entitled to with 12.1 premier support?
What will happen to the pre-developed content?
What is the effort and cost to upgrade to 12.1?
If the user base increases is there a cost implication?

    Kind regards
    Melanie

What am I entitled to with 12.1 premier support?
    Please see https://www.oracle.com/support/premier/software/

What will happen to the pre-developed content?
You mean content prebuilt by Oracle? The same 12/2022 date applies.

What is the effort and cost to upgrade to 12.1?
If you have an active account and paid support fee to Oracle, there is no cost you pay to Oracle.

If the user base increases is there a cost implication?
In that case you need to buy additional end user licenses.

    Hi Tamas

Thank you so much for the info. If you could let me know if the prebuilt content, by Oracle, will be updated or amended before the 2022 deadline?

Some content teams are actively updating their UPK prebuilt content, some don't. Content for which application are you interested in?
