Oracle User Productivty Kit (UPK) 12.1 What's New Preview

UPK 12.1 is quickly approaching and the UPK Product Management team would like to share with you a few examples of the improvements this customer-driven release delivers. If you've already read the Statement of Direction for Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK), you will have a good idea of what's coming in UPK 12.1, but today we're going to give you a chance to See It! UPK 12.1 now offers the ability to preview from the Library tab. In addition to being a popular customer request, this feature is a great complement to the Record It! wizard as the content contributed in this way is stored in a dedicated library folder where it can be previewed before an author decides to add it to an outline. Another hugely popular customer request has been the ability to delete multiple frames in the Topic Editor. We're sure you'll be glad for this improvement in topic-editing efficiency. UPK's highly customizable document outputs offer tremendous value for the various phases in a project lifecycle, but there's always room for improvement. The Print Area feature In UPK 12.1 allows authors to define the area of each frame that will appear in the action step of the document outputs. This gives authors more control over the visual component of document outputs, making them even more versatile. UPK 12.1 introduces a completely redesigned Web Page Editor, addressing the most frequently requested customer enhancements including tables, multi-level lists and lots more. Perhaps the most important aspect of these improvements is that they are delivered to both online and document outputs, continuing to fulfill UPK's promise of truly single-source content authoring throughout the content lifecycle. Last, but certainly not least, is the completely new Screenshot Overlay feature which will allow authors to quickly and easily edit one or more screenshots to effectively mask sensitive data, create additional bubbles of text, add emphasis to a particular area of the screen, and much more. So, there you have a sneak peek into some of the improvements planned for UPK 12.1, coming to Oracle Software Delivery Cloud very soon. Please let us know what you think in the comments below. Have a look at the updated Technical Specifications, Professional Technical Specifications, and Target Applications Technical Specifications for a full list of platform and target application updates. This ESP also offers an optional updated appearance for your Player bubbles in See It! and Try It! modes and a new mouse click graphic in See It! mode. You can see an example image below and test drive the updated play mode appearance by launching any topic in the UPK Master Documentation Library. For example, try the Start the Developer topic. Steps detailing how to configure these updated elements in your Player Publishing Project or published Player files can be found in the Change Play Mode Appearance section of the UPK Master Documentation Library. (Note: this section is named Customize Windowed See It! Mode in the delivered Content Development.pdf.) The UPK Player on an iPad was introduced in UPK 11.1 ESP1 and has been improved with the release of UPK 11.1 ESP 2. Sound in UPK content is now available when the UPK Player is launched on an iPad, providing a richer experience to your iPad users. In addition, Windowed See It! mode is now supported on iPads, giving you another way to deliver content to your mobile workforce. Oracle UPK and Accessibility

Oracle User Productivity Kit offers many features that allow authors to create content that is usable and useful to Assistive Technology (AT) users. While the Oracle User Productivity Kit HTML Web Site 11 VPAT (http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/accessibility/templates/t2-2584.html) provides a good representation of how UPK addresses Accessibility requirements for end users, it's only part of the story. In this post I will describe a few practical examples of how specific UPK features or outputs have been used to effectively meet the needs of AT users. This is certainly not meant to be an exhaustive list of capabilities, nor is it meant to describe the limits of UPK, but rather the starting point to a broader discussion about UPK and Accessibility. General ConsiderationsFirst, it is important to carefully plan your content development effort, including identifying your target audience and which outputs you plan to deploy. UPK offers many choices for colors, fonts, and other content characteristics which may affect the experience of the content consumers. Knowing your audience and the capabilities of UPK allows you to make good decisions when authoring and delivering your content to a broad audience with a wide range of requirements. For instance, it is important to establish UPK content standards early in your project. For instance, one decision that you should make before you begin the bulk of your content development efforts is the resolution of the content you are recording as this will potentially affect the clarity of the topic screenshots when viewed by users. As you consider which outputs you will be deploying, remember that the document outputs can be highly customized (click "View outline") to meet the needs of your users. Visual ImpairmentFor users with color blindness or low-vision, many screen magnification and zoom tools work well with UPK Player, HTML Web Site and document outputs. For example, the Windows Magnifier can really make a difference when viewing simulations in the UPK Player. The HTML Web Site and document outputs are good choices for delivering content to user who utilize high contrast color themes. In cases where screen magnification or high contrast is not enough, the HTML Web Site output is also an excellent source of content for screen reader applications. In cases where no AT is being used, sound can be delivered in the UPK Player using the Sound Editor (click "View outline") for topics and web pages to provide a more meaningful experience to users who rely more on listening to content. Dexterity or Motor ImpairmentOur customers have had good success with utilizing voice commands to interact with the UPK Player, allowing the content to be delivered to users who do not rely on mice and keyboards as their primary method of interacting with computers. Users who have limited use of a mouse and a strong preference for the keyboard will find that direct links to UPK topics can be viewed and, if authored with a keyboard user in mind, provide relevant and useful simulation content. The template text which is automatically generated by UPK during recording can be customized (click "View outline") to reach a broader audience--changing terms like "click" to "select" is one common example of a customization we see made by our customers. This simple change makes a significant difference to a user who does not use a mouse to interact with software. Hearing ImpairmentThe nature of UPK provides a very strong visual component, including screenshots and text which can provide a meaningful experience to users with hearing impairments. In the case where you are delivering content which includes sound, be sure to convey all of the relevant information in your bubble text and web pages. This allows the bubble text to act as the "closed captioning" for topic simulations. Next StepsI highly recommend reviewing the Getting Started with UPK content and the UPK Online Documentation Library, which I've referenced throughout this post. Both are great resources when considering your accessibility requirements. There's a lot more to talk about, but hopefully this illustrates how UPK can provide a lot of viable options for AT users. We will continue to improve UPK in ways that ensure authors can create accessible content with special consideration around both WCAG 2.0 and Section 508. Please use the comments to tell us how you have used UPK to create accessible content or what challenges you currently face in creating accessible content.

Knowledge Center Support of SCORM 2004 3rd-Party Content

You can now import a title that was created using any tool that builds SCORM 2004 3rd Edition content. For use in Knowledge Center the content should be exported and zipped, with the imsmanifest.xml file at the root of the zip file. Once imported, this content can only be played through a knowledge path; it is not available through the Player link in Knowledge Center. While Knowledge Center does support the SCORM 2004 API as well as the Run-Time Environment Data Model it does not support the Sequencing and Navigation functionality of SCORM 2004. For external content to operate correctly when hosted in Knowledge Center, it must be written to function correctly in the absence of this functionality. In particular, if completion and scoring information is to be properly recorded, the Sharable Content Object (SCO) must send this information to Knowledge Center directly rather than relying on setting the completion and scoring information of its primary objective. Below is a list of the SCORM 2004 level of support in the Knowledge Center: Knowledge Center includes a more versatile mentoring and feedback facility that allows for two-way conversations. Therefore it makes no use of comments submitted through the cmi.comments_from_learner data model element. However, any user comments written by a SCO will be saved and be available for retrieval by the SCO throughout the current attempt. Knowledge Center does not support cmi.comments_from_lms functionality outside of its mentoring and feedback facility. Therefore, the cmi.comments_from_lms array will always be empty, and a get on cmi.comments_from_lms._count will return 0. Knowledge Center does not support this functionality outside of its mentoring and feedback facility. Therefore, the cmi.comments_from_lms array will always be empty, and a get on cmi.comments_from_lms._count will return 0. cmi.completion_status May be set either directly through setting the value of cmi.completion_status or indirectly through setting cmi.progress_measure  cmi.completion_threshold Set in manifest file. Allows the Knowledge Center to set cmi.completion_status based on setting of cmi.progress_measure. cmi.credit Always returns "credit" cmi.entry Returns "resume" if resuming a suspended attempt. Otherwise returns "ab-initio". cmi.completion_status May be set either directly through setting the value of cmi.completion_status or indirectly through setting cmi.progress_measure. cmi.completion_threshold Set in manifest file. Allows the Knowledge Center to set cmi.completion_status based on setting of cmi.progress_measure. cmi.credit Always returns "credit". cmi.entry Returns "resume" if resuming a suspended attempt. Otherwise returns "ab-initio". cmi.exit Accepts all vocabulary tokens, but all values other than "suspend" are handled as normal session end. Logging out is handled through the Knowledge Center user interface and there is no special support for timeout. cmi.interactions Supported. However, since Sequencing and Navigation is not supported, interaction objective id's will not map to anything. The SCO is still free to use interaction objectives for its own internal use. cmi.launch_data Supported. cmi.learner_id Supported. cmi.learner_name Supported. Knowledge Center does not use user preferences and has no mechanism to set these preferences outside of the RTE. Therefore, user preferences will initially return their default values. These may be set by the SCO and will be maintained for the duration of the attempt, but when the attempt ends they will revert to their defaults. cmi.location Supported. cmi.max_time_allowed Set in manifest file. Knowledge Center does not support any special time-out condition, so if the SCO supports time-out and sets cmi.exit to "time-out", this will be no different from setting cmi.exit to "normal". cmi.mode Always returns "normal". cmi.objectives Available for use by the SCO. However, since Sequencing and Navigation is not supported, objective id's will not map to anything and the array will initially be empty. Setting the success status or score of an objective will have no external effect. The SCO is still free to use the objectives array for its own internal use. cmi.progress_measure If set, in combination with a specified value of cmi.completion_threshold, the Knowledge Center will override any explicit setting of cmi.completion_status and evaluate completion status on its own. cmi.scaled_passing_score Part of Sequencing and Navigation and not supported. cmi.score Supported. cmi.session_time Supported. Since Sequencing and Navigation is not supported, cmi.success_status must be set explicitly, rather than through objectives or cmi.scaled_passing_score. cmi.suspend_data Supported. Knowledge Center does not support any special time-out condition, so if the SCO supports time-out and sets cmi.exit to "time-out", this will be no different from setting cmi.exit to "normal". cmi.total_time Supported. cmi.objectives Available for use by the SCO. However, since Sequencing and Navigation is not supported, objective id's will not map to anything and the array will initially be empty. UPK and the Oracle Unified Method can be used to deploy Oracle-Based Business Solutions

Originally developed to support Oracle's acquisition strategy, the Oracle Unified Method (OUM) defines a common implementation language across all of Oracle's products and technologies. OUM is a flexible, scalable, and evolving body of knowledge that combines existing best practices and field experience with an industry standard framework that includes the latest thinking around agile implementation and cloud computing.  Strong, proven methods are essential to ensuring successful enterprise IT projects both within Oracle and for our customers and partners. OUM provides a collection of repeatable processes that are the basis for agile implementations of Oracle enterprise business solutions. OUM also provides a structure for tracking progress and managing cost and risks.OUM is applicable to any size or type of IT project. While OUM is a plan-based method—including overview material, task and artifact descriptions, and templates—the method is intended to be tailored to support the appropriate level of ceremony (or agility) required for each project. Guidance is provided for identifying the minimum subset of tasks, tailoring the approach, executing iterative and incremental planning, and applying agile techniques, including support for managing projects using Scrum. Supplemental guidance provides specific support for Oracle products, such as UPK. OUM is available to Oracle employees, partners, and customers. Internal Use at Oracle: Employees can download OUM from MyDesktop. OUM Partner Program: OUM is available free of charge to Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) Diamond, Platinum, and Gold partners as a benefit of membership. Tip: Recording Non-Maximized Applications in UPK

Have you ever wanted to record an application that would not maximize, or an application that would look strange maximized? Or perhaps your Windows Desktop has become cluttered with icons and you don't want to capture the clutter in your recordings. Here's a tip that will help: create a background for your recording. Create a blank HTML file with a black background in your favorite HTML editor. Or download this sample file: UPK_Recording_Background.html (right click to save). If you would prefer a different color background in the sample file, open it in Notepad and change “#000” to a different HTML color. Open UPK_Recording_Background.html in its own web browser window. Press F11 to make the web browser window full screen. This should give you a completely black screen. (This works great in modern versions of the most popular browsers. I successfully used Firefox 15, Chrome 22, and IE 9. Open or switch to the desired application so that it sits on top of the full screen browser window. If the application you are recording is also in a browser, it is important that it be in a separate browser window from the UPK_Recording_Background.html. Record your topic normally. The above steps create a recording background using an HTML file and a web browser. This is just one method, for instance you could do the same thing with an image editor and an image viewer with a full screen view. Now you can record a non-maximized application without a distracting background. I hope you find this to be a helpful tip. Let us know what you think in the comments.

Proving What You are Worth

Here is a challenge for everyone. Just about everyone has been asked to provide or calculate the Return on Investment (ROI), so I will assume everyone has a method they use. The problem with stopping once you have an ROI is that those in the C-Suite probably do not care about the ROI as much as Return on Equity (ROE). Shareholders are mostly concerned with their return on the money the invested. Warren Buffett looks at ROE when deciding whether to make a deal or not. This article will outline how you can add more meaning to your ROI and show how you can potentially enhance the ROE of the company.   First I want to start with a base definition I am using for ROI and ROE. Return on investment (ROI) and return on equity (ROE) are ways to measure management effectiveness, parts of a system of measures that also includes profit margins for profitability, price-to-earnings ratio for valuation, and various debt-to-equity ratios for financial strength. Without a set of evaluation metrics, a company's financial performance cannot be fully examined by investors. ROI and ROE calculate the rate of return on a specific investment and the equity capital respectively, assessing how efficient financial resources have been used. Typically, the best way to improve financial efficiency is to reduce production cost, so that will be the focus. Now that the challenge has been made and items have been defined, let’s go deeper. Most research about implementation stops short at system start-up and seldom addresses post-implementation issues. However, we know implementation is a continuous improvement effort, and continued efforts after system start-up will influence the ultimate success of a system.   Most UPK ROI’s I have seen only include the cost savings in developing the training material. Some will also include savings based on reduced Help Desk calls. Using just those values you get a good ROI. To get an ROE you need to go a little deeper. Typically, the best way to improve financial efficiency is to reduce production cost, which is the purpose of implementing/upgrading an enterprise application. Let’s assume the new system is up and running and all users have been properly trained and are comfortable using the system. You provide senior management with your ROI that justifies the original cost. What you want to do now is develop a good base value to a measure the current efficiency. Using usage tracking you can look for various patterns. For example, you may find that users that are accessing UPK assistance are processing a procedure, such as entering an order, 5 minutes faster than those that don’t.  You do some research and discover each minute saved in processing a claim saves the company one dollar. That translates to the company saving five dollars on every transaction. Assuming 100,000 transactions are performed a year, and all users improve their performance, the company will be saving $500,000 a year. That $500,000 can be re-invested, used to reduce debt or paid to the shareholders.   With continued refinement during the life cycle, you should be able to find ways to reduce cost. These are the type of numbers and productivity gains that senior management and shareholders want to see. Being able to quantify savings and increase productivity may also help when seeking a raise or promotion.

Here is a challenge for everyone. Just about everyone has been asked to provide or calculate the Return on Investment (ROI), so I will assume everyone has a method they use. The problem with stopping...

Oracle UPK Technical Implementation Specialist Certification - Vouchers Available

submitted by Beth Renstrom, February 13, 2012The Oracle UPK Product Management and Development team is in the process of developing a Partner Specialization for UPK.  I wanted to make you aware that our beta certification program for a UPK Implementation – Technical consultant is now available.  As part of the beta process we are able to provide consultants with a voucher, enabling them to take the exam at no charge. This is the beta process, so there will be more questions on the beta exam than there will be on the final UPK Implementation Technical certification exam.  Based on the result of the beta some questions will be removed from the general question pool because they fall on the too difficult or too easy ends of the scale.  Once our beta testing is complete, consultants participating will be graded on the score they receive on the questions kept in the final exam.  If they pass, they will receive their UPK Implementation - Technical Certification.  If you are an Oracle Partner with access to the Oracle Partner Network and would like participate, please send the name and email of each consultant to:  upk-tutor-updates_ww@oracle.com.  We will be selecting a pool of around 40 consultants to participate in the beta, if selected, they will be contacted with additional instructions on how to register for the exam.   These are proctored exams given through Pearson Vue testing centers located globally.  Follow the link to make sure there is a location near you.  We would need to have the consultant available to take the exam within 1 month of receiving the voucher. To prepare for the exam we recommend that you study the material in the UPK Implementation – Technical guided learning path on the Oracle Partner Network website.

Usage Tracking improvements for UPK Professional customers

User Productivity Kit versions 3.6 and earlier contain an optional module call Usage Tracking which allows an organization to deploy and track how users utilize UPK content. This module is useful for a number of purposes including tracking user scores in Know It? mode, understanding what topics are used most frequently, viewing which modes are used most frequently and more. UPK Player content is tracked with virtually no impact to the user. The only difference a user need see is a login dialog in cases where standard authentication is used. Other than that, the player looks and functions in the same way. You can even deploy Usage Tracking with any In-Application Support configurations you may already have. The UPK 11 release makes a number of improvements to the "usage tracking" module for users of UPK Professional. The most significant change in UPK 11 is that UPK Developer, Player and Usage Tracking have been fully integrated with the Knowledge Pathways module of UPK Professional. In this new, integrated product, the Usage Tracking module and Knowledge Pathways have been integrated into a single module named Knowledge Center. Knowledge Center provides the same simple and direct player access that you've seen in previous versions as well as other powerful features from Knowledge Pathways such as Knowledge Paths, custom user fields, search and more. In this post I want to describe a couple features in the professional version of Knowledge Center that we've improved upon and extended into the usage tracking functionality. First is expert advice. Expert advice is a feature from Knowledge Pathways that permits an organization to set up a group of experts for a set of content. Users are then provided with an option to ask a question of the experts and have a conversation with them. Let's take a look at a scenario. A user is having difficulty with a transaction in an enterprise application. The user accesses UPK from the application's help menu or by using Smarthelp and the UPK Player appears. The user then plays one or more topics answering most of their questions but one remains. What now? The user can now click the Ask an Expert button in the player, enter their questions and receive further assistance from an Expert. The second improvement is the ability to restrict access to different player packages. Usage Tracking has always been able to manage, track and report against multiple player packages, however, it does not have the ability to control access to these various player packages. If an authenticated user has access to one player package under Usage Tracking, they have access to all of them. UPK 11 Professional Knowledge Center provides an entirely new ability to control access to player packages by usergroup. First, you must configure the player's launch option which allows you to determine whether the player can be launched directly or whether it is restricted by group. You can then control which players are available to a usergroup from the usergroup properties. Viewing the Frame ID in the UPK Player

Frame IDs are unique identifiers for the frames within a single UPK topic. These are used internally by UPK and have been available in the topic editor for many releases. In the topic editor, you can view the frame ID on the "Topic Navigation and View" toolbar and when pointing to a frame in the "Frame Structure" pane. You can also use these IDs to navigate to a specific frame in a topic. Use the "Go To / Specific Frame" menu. In User Productivity Kit 11, we've added the ability to display Frame IDs during topic playback. The setting defaults to Off but it can be enabled with a simple setting change. For many releases, you've been able to make setting changes in different Javascript files in the Player. In UPK 11, we've consolidated all these settings into a single Javascript file called config.js. Locate a published UPK Player package. From the root of the package open config.js in a text editor like Notepad. Locate the following line and change it from:ShowFrameID: "Off"to:ShowFrameID: "On" Save the file and launch the player. When you launch a topic in any mode other than "Print It!" the player will show the Frame ID in the upper left corner. You can also configure the option such that the ID only appears when a specific key combination is pressed. For example, if you wanted the ID to appear when pressing Shift + F1, you could set the ShowFrameID value to "ShiftF1". More information can be found in the topic titled Display Frame ID in Topic Player in the UPK Master Documentation Library. This option can be useful for performing content reviews. The reviewers can provide feedback by returning the name of the topic and the ID of the frame to which their comment applies. You might consider having the Frame ID only appear when a specific key combination is used for all of your UPK content. When users have feedback or difficulty with a step, you can use the Frame ID to locate the problematic material. Since UPK 3.5, you've also been able to add the Frame ID to print styles by customizing them with the FrameID bookmark. See the topic titled Bookmark Reference in the UPK Master Documentation Library for more information.  We'd appreciate your thoughts and feedback on how you're using this new feature. Better direct topic launches with UPK

As we approach the end of 2011, I find myself working this last week of the year for the first time in many, many years. With so many of my colleges taking holiday this week, meetings and interruptions are nowhere to be found on my schedule and so I'll take a little time to share some UPK tips and tricks with you. For many years, there have been multiple ways to launch content in UPK. You can launch UPK content through the Player table of contents. You can launch UPK content through a Learning Management System (LMS). You have always been able to launch a single topic mode such as See It!, Try It! or Do It! through a URL. It's this last one I want to discuss in this post. The ability to share a single topic with another person can be useful in all sorts of situations. A help desk can use them to answer user questions. I use them frequently when replying to a question in our internal Oracle employee forums. Whenever you need to share information about how to use a business applications, it's great to be able to share this through a single URL. Until recently, if you wanted to share a single UPK topic with another person, you needed to decide which mode (See It!, Try It! ,etc.) to send. What mode is most effective for the recipient is a personal decision driven by an individual's preferred learning style. I may learn best by doing. You may learn best by watching and listening. If I sent you a link to Do It! mode, you might struggle with the information more than if I had sent you See It! or Try It! as well. User Productivity Kit 11 adds a new method of launching topics that take the user to a page complete with the topic concept, buttons to launch every mode, support for Jump In points, access to preferences and more. While the old style launch to mode links are still available, I'd recommend that most users switch to these more robust forms of launching topics. Give it a try for yourself using the links below! Launching a Document (information from the UPK Documentation Library on this feature) Example of a directly launched topic. User Productivity Kit 11 ESP 1 also adds a new "Share" feature to the Player Table of Contents and these direct topic launches. This allows you to quickly get the URL for any item that you are viewing. Copy and paste that link into an email, onto a wiki, or whatever tool you use to share information with others. Thank you for your time visiting this blog. If there are any other topics of interest you'd like to read about, don't hesitate to comment. Oracle Tutor: Document Audit and Maintenance

Perhaps themost critical phase in the process of documenting policies and procedure -- andthe greatest challenge to owners -- is the maintenance of published documents.Documents must reflect current practice and they must be accurate. The mosteffective way to ensure this is through the regular audit of documents. In theTutor environment, a Document Owner must audit each of his/her documents onceevery 6 to 12 months to verify that the document reflects actual practice. Ifit does not, the document is updated or employees are retrained (depending onthe nature of the discrepancy). If adocument update is required, the Tutor system enables the owner to modify andredistribute the document within one work day. This is possible because: Documents contain a minimum of detail, thereby reducing the edits. Document format and structure are simple, so changes are easy toidentify The Tutor Author software tool enables the Document Owner or theDocument Administrator to update the file quickly. The Document Administrator verifies the document format and integration, publishes the document, and distributes it to all affected employees, therebyfreeing the Document Owner of the more tedious tasks. UPK Releases

Enablement Service Pack 1 for UPK 11 is Now Available

We are please to announce that Enablement Service Pack 1 (ESP 1) for UPK 11 is now available on the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud. Like previous Enablement Service Packs, this update allows you to incrementally update UPK features and functionality without the need to install a new version of the software. Enablement Service Pack 1 for UPK 11 adds a new feature in the Player which allows users to easily share content, it provides updates to commonly recorded platforms and applications, and it adds support for new versions of infrastructure platforms. New Player Feature: ShareThe UPK Player now includes a link above the concept pane called "Share". When a user clicks the Share link, a dialog box will provide a web address (URL) that can be shared with others. Simply copy the URL and paste it into an instant message or e-mail to share the content with someone else. This feature will allow users to share content with one another, or allow a help desk to more easily share links from a central knowledge base of Player information with users. There are lots of other ways this feature can be used--tell use how you intend to use it in the comments! (Note: the Share link is intentionally not included when launching the Player from play.exe to help prevent sharing invalid local links.) Catching Up with UPK – an update on events and what’s coming in the UPK World!

Oracle Open WorldOpen World was a smashing success!  This year we had our first ever UPK Track containing over 14 sessions, demo pods, and hands on labs in addition to the multiple customer and partner meetings.  It was great to see familiar faces and meet new UPK users.  The interest level around UPK was phenomenal; our demo pod booth traffic was non-stop with over 300 people stopping by over a 3-day period.  We touched over 1,300 people in the UPK specific sessions and hundreds more that heard about UPK from many of the other product sessions that mentioned the value of UPK!  Thank you to all the attendees and especially to the customers and partners that presented, Phil Wilkinson from Liverpool John Moores University, Nicole Moore from Extendicare, and Carol Griffeth from AZZ Inc.  Partner sessions included great presentations from Synaptis and Intelligo.  There was information shared from everyone, including Product Management and Development, and not one but two special interest groups (SIG) meetings, one for OAUG and a new SIG for Quest. The UPK Applications demo pods had an iPad giveaway and the lucky winner was Lyla Welday from Smuckers!  We were able to track down Lyla at Open World and deliver the iPad in person!More information about Open World is available by clicking here.Make sure to include Oracle Open World on your list of 'must attend' events in 2012!  September 30 - October 4, 2012 San Francisco, CAOther Upcoming Events featuring UPK:November 3 - 4, 2011 - Durham, NC:  Southeast Oracle User Conference (SEOUC)This event has pre-conference workshops and over 40 sessions focused on Oracle Applications, Apps Development, DBA, Security, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, System Architecture/Administration and of course UPK!  Register Now!December 6-8, 2011 - Sao Paulo, Brazil - Oracle Open World BrazilMarch 18 - 21, 2012 - Nashville, TN - Alliance Conference:  www.heug.orgApril 4-6, 2012 - Tokyo, Japan - Oracle Open World AsiaApril 22 - 26, 2012 - Las Vegas, NV - Collaborate Conference:  http://collaborate12.com
