Tpenta?

Yes, it's a strange name. It's been with me for a while now.

If you were into LPMUDS around 13 years ago, it may sound familiar. I admined a mud called Boiling Mud at the University of Newcastle at that time. It was originally set up to keep the Newcastle students both off the 48k DDS line that the Uni had as well as the international link through Melbourne. The name actually orignated a little before that as an AD&D Wizard that I had been playing with.

Anyway, as this is my first external blog entry a short bio is probably in order.

I currently work in Product Technical Support (PTS) in Sydney as a Kernel Support Engineer. Part of my time is also spent as one of the engineers holding up the Sun end of the VOS JEC during the Asia Pacific on hours.

I've just celebrated five years with Sun, and must say that i thoroughly love the work I'm doing and the challenges that I am constantly presented with. Prior to that I spent six years as at CSIRO (the Australian Government Researcher) in various roles ranging from SA to Acting Divisional IT Manager and managing the Unix and Network Support Group. Prior to that I did SA work at the University of Newcastle for about ten years.

I've also written a few articles for the Australian customer magazine (on#sun), look for my name in the tech-tips column.

In case it has not already come across in my recent writings there, I am terribly excited about both Solaris 10 and Solaris on x86. Maybe I'll write some more on those subjects here at a later date.
