In Oracle Utilities Application Framework V22.214.171.124.0 and above, a new archiving and data management capability was introduced to help customers design a cost effective storage solution and data management strategy for their implementations of Oracle Utilities products. The facility will allow customers to retain data according to their policies (legal or otherwise) whilst offering strategies for cost effective storage of that data.
To help with the implementation of this new facility two new whitepapers have been published to My Oracle Support for download:
- ILM Planning Guide for Oracle Utilities Application Framework (Doc Id: 1682436.1) - This is an overview of the ILM based data management facility and best practices in implementation.
- Information Life Cycle Management (ILM) Implementation Guide for Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing (Doc Id: 1682442.1) - Oracle Utilities Customer Care And Billing is the first Oracle Utilities product to ship with this new facility including configuration and additional components. This guide outlines the technical side of the solution as well as details of the objects within Oracle Utilities Customer Care And Billing that are optimized for ILM.
Additional products will be releasing additional whitepaper as they release the ILM based components.
