GlassFish v3 Prelude - Now in 8 languages

Multi-lingual GlassFIsh

Ming has just announced that the multilingual (ML) release of GlassFish v3 Prelude is now available on the main download page (worth a couple of extra mega-bytes for the archive size). This covers the following languages French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Korean.

The most visible part is clearly the admin console. I can only judge the French localization and I'll say that I find it pretty good. Make sure you share your comments with the GlassFish localization community at g11n-AT-glassfish.dev.java.net.

If you're any curious, get the ML version and stick the -Duser.language=zh -Duser.region=CN (or similar) startup option in your domain.xml (or simply use %java -Duser.language=xyz -jar modules/glassfish.jar) and point your browser to admin console URL.

Salut, tu parles GlassFish? (Multi-Lingual release)

Various flags

It may be news to some, but GlassFish is available in a total of 8 languages: English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, French, German and Spanish. GlassFish v2ur2 Multi-Lingual (ML) release is now available.

Ming has a post on the various artifacts (GlassFish community bits, Sun Java System Application Server, Java EE SDK, etc...), where to download them all, and how to get involved in one of the "international" communities.

Now is probably a good time to mention the various editions of TheAquarium: Chinese, EspaƱol, Japanese, Russian, and Korean. A good illustration of the "Act globally, act locally" principle we try to follow whenever possible.
