Promoting Portable Portlets

Guest Author
By way of GregZ's Portlet Tools blog, there is a new tutorial on SDN that walks you through deployment of a 168-compliant, Java Server Faces portlet developed in Java Studio Creator 2. It covers in detail the resource wiring required so that the portlet can access EJBs and JDBC data sources. The tutorial uses Sun Java System Portal Server 7.0.

Meanwhile Marco has been playing with Creator and JBoss, specifically he ran into problems deploying the same Java Server Faces Portlet to JBoss Portal but managed to resolve the problem.

Also see the earlier
Creator and Portlets where it is reported that Creator works with
Pluto and
GlassFish.

Packaging and configuration Idiosyncrasies aside - it's good to see a demonstration of the portability that JSR-168 provides.

BTW, there is a forum for the Portal Server product. Check http://swforums.sun.com/jive/forum.jspa?forumID=225.
