java.net outage

Guest Author

The GlassFish website has been down for a number of hours (together with a number of other projects) as a result of a general outage in the java.net datacenter. The team is working hard on getting everything back to normal. You can track progress by following @ProjectKenai.

Update: services should now all be back to normal. If you face java.net issues in the future, consider reporting them here. And now, back to work!

Is there any way to get the Maven repository hosted on download.java.net to serve up 404s instead of 200s and Oracle's homepage?

I'm sure we could but by the time it's setup I *really* hope that everything is back to normal...

The packagemanager isn't connecting either... When are y'all going to have the Downloads up and running again, or in other words, the data repository is offline.

    I'm afraid that's a different outage :(

    I'll investigate where it stands

Your 'outage' appears to have messed up many of the packages on maven.glassfish.org. Several of the checksum files there are simply copies of Oracle's mainpage.

    For example: http://maven.glassfish.org/content/groups/public//org/apache/maven/wagon/wagon-provider-api/1.0-beta-2/wagon-provider-api-1.0-beta-2.pom.sha1

Please fix this as soon as possible.

The issue should be fixed for java.sun.com standard DTDs.

Waiting on a status for the rest.

    Hopefully Maven is fixed now.

    On to the remaining DTDs...

Some proxies were corrupted on maven.glassfish.org. It's now fixed.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

I am missing artifacts that at one point were provided by java.net's Maven 2 but are no longer available such as org.jboss:javassist:pom:3.7.1.GA

Do you mean the java.net repository or the GlassFish one?

maven.glassfish.org proxies the JBoss repo and you can find that artifact at http://maven.glassfish.org/content/groups/glassfish/org/jboss/javassist/

If you're specifically looking for something on the java.net repo, I'd encourage you to ping the infrastructure team on their JIRA: http://kenai.com/jira/browse/KENAI
