The New Docs.Sun.Com

ALT DESCR has been around for a long time and its look-and-feel had not been updated significantly for a bit. But today it sports a New Look and it looks very good! Check these out:

GFv2, GFv2 U1/U2, GFv3 Prelude
Portal 7.2, JavaCAPS, MQ, and much more
• Nice dynamic browsing and improved searching.
• Localized in 12 languages!

Very nice! I would only want to have the ability to annotate the documents, otherwise, this looks very good!

Added - Also check out Susan's Overview of the changes.

Why is the default Korean?

re: default - It should not be. My default is english. I have not looked at the details of how it is done, but I'd assume it uses some notion of default locale on your side that is sent through a cookie. - eduard/o

Why, when offering to select by product, aren't the products alphabetized? Instead there's just a long series of numbers that bring the visitor of the site to random lists of stuff.

As for the new look "looking good", I guess its a matter of taste. The page is so devoid of interest that one could easily mistake it for a spec sheet gone wrong.

Has SUN heard of Web 2.0? And does SUN's marketing Department realize that instead of beating the visiting audience over the head with high end product placement that giving developers easy access to critical "useful" information would go further in stimulating inquiries about complementary technologies?

Here's a test. Take a look at the popular tags cloud widget on this page and then try mapping anything there to your so-called Docs page. There's a disconnect.
