About GlassFish network topologies and load-balancing

Note: if you're reading this using a feedreader, please make sure you've updated to the updated TheAquarium feed.

Load-balancing is a topic that comes up often with GlassFish users and Markus has posted a piece covering both proxying and load-balancing.

He covers Unix techniques such as iptables, authbind and Apache mod_proxy as both a reverse-proxy or rewriting engine but also the Jsvc utility. He also touches on different load-balancing options: Oracle GlassFish Server, mod_jk, and mod_proxy_balancer. Feel free to share your load-balancing experiences on his blog.

Note that GlassFish 3.1.2 will strengthen its support for mod_proxy_ajp and that load-balancing provisioning is handled by early builds of GlassFish 4.0 as shown in this video from JavaOne 2011.

You mention that "GlassFish 3.1.2 will strengthen its support for mod_proxy_ajp". Where can I find more information about this?

Hello Glen, my understanding is that this is mostly a documentation improvement we're looking at. Asking on USERS should provide more details.
