150K GlassFish Registrations in 7 months

Today we crossed the 150K mark with the GlassFish registrations (150,087 to be precise). We started the program late December 07, with the GlassFish v2U1 release (announcement), ramping up since then to a current rate around 25K registrations a month.

The program is totally voluntary and the high registration numbers in the program - even in its current, nascent form - is another indicator of the interest on the GlassFish Server.

I've installed GlassFish on my computers and servers, many times each. When upgrading to UR1, UR2, etc. I do a full re-install. I wonder how many downloads and registrations are from the same person? Are you interested in per-server information or per company/user registration?

The 150K is registered assets. Some cases are like yours, but many are unique. I don't have quick access to the unique registrations but the last time I checked was when there were a bit over 100K registered assets, and, at that time there were about 70K unique (SDN) identities.

So, answering your question, both numbers are important, but the one I can get more easily is the assets.

Thanks for the clarification. These are very impressive numbers! I hope many businesses purchase support so Sun can make their money back and profit from this great product.
