An Oracle blog about Java Technology

A Database (in a browser) ?

Guest Author
I was just chatting with Max about Derby today and that reminded me to take a look at Francois Orsini's blog. Francois was behind the Derby demo at ApacheCon back in December where he demonstrated Derby as an embedded database in Firefox.

On his blog - he talks about the demo and how he's also managed to compress Derby into just 650k (as a download). Hmm, embedded databases - that sounds pretty interesting, set-top boxes, network appliances, PDAs / cell-phones. ...

I'm sure we haven't heard the last from Derby / Open Java DB being used in new and interesting ways.
