The Drama of DRMAA

In case anyone is wondering whether the DRMAA JavaTM language binding is going to make it into the N1TM Grid Engine software 6.0u1 release, so am I. The issue was finally brought up with the product team (PTeam) last week (about 1 week too late), with the intention of reaching a decision at the next meeting (in either 1 week or 2, I'm not sure). Of course, we had our 60u1 code freeze today, with plans to send the ISO image out to production next Wednesday. That means that it's unlikely the PTeam will be able to meet again, much less make a decision in time for it to help.

(However, a couple of folks have just a bug or two that might be important enough to delay the 60u1 release until we can fix them. If that happens, there's still a faint glimmer of hope.)

I'll keep you posted on the progress.
