LOCATION AND AGENDA:

The Dresden 2007 HPC Consortium meeting will be located near the Dresden City Center at the beautiful Westin Bellevue Resort. The meeting will be held just before the ISC'07 (http://www.supercomp.de/isc2007/) conference in Dresden.

If you have concerns about transportation to and from the Dresden ISC'07 event during the Consortium please indicate this on your registration, or email the coordinators at either peggy.taylor@sun.com or philippe.trautmann@sun.com.

The draft agenda for the 3 days event is now available. Note the talks from Sun and also your fellow HPC users on the challenges and state of the art for science, engineering and research computing today. Sessions will be all day on Monday and Tuesday. See draft agenda at the following address:

NOTE: The program will also feature (2) Vendor Forums with (3) speakers each.

Remember to register early and save! There is a reduced hotel rate if you register before June 5th, 2007.

Who should attend:
All Sun scientific, engineering, or research computing customers or anyone interested in high-performance computing on Sun technologies. Each meeting is designed to address a wide range of interests from application developers to CIOs and VPs of Research.

The Sun HPC Consortium agenda will include Sun-confidential information and all attendees must sign a Confidential information Disclosure Agreement or have an existing Agreement on file with your local Sun sales office.

TRANSPORT

Please be aware that due to extension of the Dresden airport tarmac, the whole airport will closed between June 22nd, 15:00 and June 25th, 7:00.

Travel agancies are aware of the airport shutdown, and most flights heading to Dresden will be redirected to the close-by Leizig-Halle airport. Bus shuttles will then be available to get to the Dresden airport. Please make sure that when booking your travel to Dresden, you anticipate on the additonal travel time needed to get to Dresden.

ABOUT THE CONSORTIUM

The Consortium's mission is to provide the high performance computing community with leadership and provide a forum for information exchange to enable the development and effective use of Sun computational tools in achieving the business and research objectives of the Sun technical computing community.

Participants represent a broad range of computing applications and environments. The meeting format is designed to give participants the opportunity to present HPC developments, discuss applications and needs with their peers, and to hear and provide feedback on Sun's engineering plans.
