Only In Germany

Here in Germany, the brand of laundry detergent I use is called Frosch, which means frog in German. As a promotion, the bag of Frosch I bought on Monday came with a little plastic frog's head on a suction cup. The instructions on the wrapper said it was a wall hook, and could be used to hang your towel or your toothbrush or whatever. Yeah, right.
Since our towel holder in the bathroom had just finally fallen off the wall in an irreparable way, I thought I'd try the frog's head, just for laughs, knowing full well that it would fall off the wall within 15 minutes, even without the weight of a towel. Well, I forgot I'm in Germany. Not only did it stay on the wall, but it stayed on the wall while holding up a hand towel.
What's more, the wall on which I stuck the thing is not completely smooth. We brought some soap dishes and such from the US with super-duper, stick-to-anything suction cups on them, and they won't stay on the wall for more than a couple of hours. Yet this freebie piece of junk has no trouble with it. Go figure.
