Advanced Sun Grid Engine Configuration and Administration Class
By templedf on Sep 04, 2007
The class is targeted at experienced Grid Engine administrators who want to become experts. The plan will be to spend the first two days and maybe half of the third day on advanced topics, and then leave the remaining time to work on "grid word problems". I will give attendees a set of desired characteristics, and they will configure their grid to match those characteristics based on what they learned in the previous two (and a half) days.
The agenda is going to be very packed. We'll be cramming a lot of content into a very short class. To help mitigate the whiplash most attendees from the last class reported, I will be expanding the content so that it makes fewer assumptions about what folks already know, especially with respect to qconf command options. (I won't be reducing the volume of the fire hose any; I'll just be providing a funnel to hold between your teeth.)
You can find a rough agenda for in the announcement along with instructions for registering. We will probably limit the class size to about 12-14, so sign up now if you're interested. The class is very hands-on, so each attendee will have his or her own cluster on which to work.
