5 Year Anniversary

My wife and I will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary next month. The plan for the last 4 years has been to spend it in Hawaii. However, as the trip from Germany to Hawaii is very expensive and extremely painful, we're exploring other options. Where should we go? My wife would like to go somewhere warm (in April), preferably a beach, and somewhere that's relatively easy to reach from Germany. We've thought about South Africa, Greece, the Canaries, etc, but we haven't decided yet. Anyone have any suggestions for us?

A vacation is a experience always. a penny thought: Perpignan.fr, Yes it is not that far, nice airport. great History. A good part of PERPIGNAN's population is of Spanish origin – refugees from the Civil War and their descendants. The southern influence is further augmented by a substantial admixture of North Africans, including both Arabs and white French settlers repatriated after Algerian independence in 1962. http://www.mairie-perpignan.fr/ While there are few memorable monuments to visit, Perpignan is an enjoyable city with a lively street life. Its heyday was in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, when the kings of Majorca held their court here, and it is from this period that most of its historical interest derives. Well placed on the main Mediterranean coast international lines of communication, it is much the best base for exploring the eastern end of the Pyrenees, and the Cathar castles of the Corbières. Of course a vacation is what two people make ot it. Happy Trails.

When I used to live & work in Switzerland, a friend of mine told me that beaches in Spain are really good.

April is not that warm in Greece; it's still a bit early in the year. I mean, it's not like a lot of people are already swimming at beaches and stuff.

April and May are though teh two best months of the year. The Spring season is absolutely marvellous :-)
