Password Management for Oracle PSRM

It is important for customers to understand how to maintain passwords for Oracle Public Sector Revenue Management (PSRM), which is built using Oracle Utilities Framework (OUAF).  PSRM and OUAF do not supply functionality to maintain a password.  It is Oracle's direction for industry products and core applications not to maintain security information as it is not their role in an architecture.  We recommend Oracle Identity Management Suite for password management as password rules and user provisioning ensure a secure and compliant security fabric across the product line.  However, PSRM and OUAF follow open technology standards, so 3rd party password management solutions may be used.

Please, refer to the link below for a sample that illustrates how to call an internal WebLogic API to change the password from a product via a JSP call regardless of the Authentication Provider within Oracle WebLogic.

Application Services for System Objects

An Application Service is used to secure an ETPM Page, Portal and other system objects such as Maintenance Objects (MO), Business Objects (BO), Scripts, etc… Each Application Service has different modes based on the type of object.  For example, an Application Service for a BO may have Read, Write, Update, etc...  The Application Service and applicable modes are associated with a User Group.  One User Group may be Read-Only while another allows full rights.  Users are added to the User Group and allowed to perform applicable actions for the different objects.

This entry provides details on the conventions used in ETPM for the Application Services for different system objects.
