Oracle Enterprise Taxation and Policy Management Self Service v1.0 is Now Available

New tax product - Oracle Enterprise Taxation Policy Management Self Service is now available. The solution provides tax and revenue authorities with a single citizen portal – powered by Oracle Policy Automation for Public Sector, Oracle WebCenter, Oracle Application Development Framework and Oracle SOA Suite – that can integrate across multiple tax types and tax processing systems.

Oracle Enterprise Taxation and Policy Management Self Service enables tax and revenue authorities to quickly provide more taxpayer services online – such as the ability to make payments, contact the tax agency with questions and requests or receive self-guided automated assistance with policies and tax law.  Tax and revenue authorities can implement Oracle Enterprise Taxation and Policy Management Self Service – an out-of-the-box solution – quickly and easily, and lower the cost of taxpayer service operations by promoting a broader set of taxpayer self service features

ETPM/OUAF 2.3.1 Framework Overview - Session 3

The OUAF Framework Session 3 is now available. This session covered the following topics:

1. UI Maps - the generation of display of UI Maps in the system based on the setup of the Business Object.  Tips and tricks for generating the UI Map.

2. BPA Scripts - how scripts have changed using the different step types.  Overview of the BPA Scripts.

3. Case Study - a small presentation of using the different options available when implementing requirements.

4. Revision Control - the options for revision control of configuration objects in ETPM.

ETPM/OUAF 2.3.1 Framework Overview - Session 2

A number of sessions are planned to review the ETPM (OUAF) 2.3.1 Framework.  These sessions will include an overview of the Navigation, Portals, Zones, Business Objects, Business Services, Algorithms, Scripts, etc..

ETPM/OUAF 2.3.1 Framework Overview - Session 1

A number of sessions are planned to review the ETPM (OUAF) 2.3.1 Framework.  These sessions will include an overview of the Navigation, Portals, Zones, Business Objects, Business Services, Algorithms, Scripts, etc..

Session 1 includes an overview of the standards in ETPM 2.3.1 Navigation and changes in the configuration and options for Portals and Zones.  Session 1 starts to look at the configuration of Business Objects.  The next session will provide an in-depth explanation for the configuration of Business Objects.

Tax Reference Models Overview & Collateral

Tax Reference Models (TRM's) provide Business Analysis (Requirements, Process Flows) and Solution Analysis (ETPM Gap/Fit Analysis and widget estimation) for a specific Tax Type.  TRM's contain provide materials that can be used as a starting point for customer communication, packed materials for RFP responses, a guide to better understand a Tax Type, etc...  Currently, TRM's are available for Sales & Use and Corporate Income.  The TRM collateral includes a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), Process Flows (Level 0 - Level 2) and Solution Packages to address gaps based on the gap/fit analysis.

Our team has published recordings for 'What's New in ETPM v2.3.1?' as well as overviews of features in a number of functional areas. Partners and customers who are considering implementing on or upgrading to recent versions like 2.3.1 have asked for a similar overview of the features available in ETPM v2.3.0 so they have a more complete view of what has been recently released.

The What's New in ETPM v2.3.0? recording presents an overview of the features delivered in the ETPM v2.3.0 release. This recording was conducted in an ETPM v2.3.1 environment but the content focuses solely on those features new to ETPM v2.3.0.

Accessibility Update: The Oracle ETPM v2.3 VPAT is now available on oracle.com

Oracle Tax is committed to building accessible applications.  Oracle uses a VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) to document the accessibility status of each product.  The VPAT was created by a partnership of the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) and the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to create a simple document that could be used by US Federal contracting and procurement officials to evaluate a product with respect to the provisions contained in Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

ETPM Forms Accelerator

ETPM Forms Accelerator is a document provides additional help on the Forms Definition features in ETPM 2.3.1.  This accelerator includes details related to defining the Form Type, Form Sections, Form Lines and then an overview of the Form Rules linked to the Registration or Tax Form. 

NOTE:   You must download the file and save it as an .xls file.  Viewing the file online displays HTML and the file will not display correctly.  Once the file is saved, it can be opened and viewed.

Now Available: Oracle Application Management Pack for Enterprise Taxation

Oracle Tax is pleased to announce the general availability of the Oracle Application Management Pack for Enterprise Taxation V12.1.0.1.0.   This pack allows Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c the ability to manage the Software Lifecycle Management activities of Oracle ETPM.  The management packs are ready for customers and partners to download and install via the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud as well as Oracle Enterprise Manager Self Update.  The management packs must be licensed for production use.  These packs work with the same Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c that DBAs and system administrators use today to manage environments for Oracle Database, WebLogic, and other Oracle applications and technology.

Where can I find the SDK Documentation?

The Oracle Utilities Software Development Kit is used for customers on the Oracle Utilities Application Framework version based products - including Oracle Enterprise Taxation and Policy Management (ETPM).  The SDK Developer training documentation helps with the customization and creating pieces within various layers of the application.  

The SDK and documentation is available by logging into Oracle Support (support.oracle.com) by following this  SDK Documentation Link or by searching for “Oracle Utilities Framework Products Software Development Kit” in Oracle Support.

Please note, you will also need to download the appropriate patches listed in the support documentation based on the version of the framework being used by ETPM.

Application Services for System Objects

An Application Service is used to secure an ETPM Page, Portal and other system objects such as Maintenance Objects (MO), Business Objects (BO), Scripts, etc… Each Application Service has different modes based on the type of object.  For example, an Application Service for a BO may have Read, Write, Update, etc...  The Application Service and applicable modes are associated with a User Group.  One User Group may be Read-Only while another allows full rights.  Users are added to the User Group and allowed to perform applicable actions for the different objects.
