ETPM Micro Focus COBOL Licenses
By Joe Brulle on Oct 10, 2011
A common question/issue that many projects have is what Micro Focus COBOL license do they need. It primarily depends on what you are doing on your implementation. If you need to create or update new COBOL programs then you need one of the Express licenses (Server Express for Unix or Net Express for Windows). This allows you to compile COBOL programs on your implementation. If your implementation does not need to compile COBOL code then you only need the runtime license.
The runtime license is included with the ETPM license fee. When you install ETPM it will come with a 30-day temporary license. You will need to obtain a permanent license from the Oracle License team. You will need your Customer Support Identifier Number (CSI) and ask for the appropriate license. Since most of our tax clients are not developing COBOL this will be the Micro Focus Runtime license for ETPM. You mail this information to firstname.lastname@example.org
The license team will then send you the zipped file that will contain the script and instructions on how to install the permanent license.
