Dbxtool over the years in pictures

I have taken some screenshots of the various DBXtool versions that I described in a previous blog. Heres a slideshow based on those screenshots. Enjoy!

Indeed. A peek back in time is always interesting, isnt it?
DBX and dbxtool/debugger have changed enormously over the years (although the "debugging" activity is fundamentally the same) and these changes reflect the changes in development models

I remember using dbxtool, when I first started doing coding on a Sun Workstation. I absolutely loved it.

IDE's started to become popular, but the complexity really turned me off to coding.

The IDE's were overkill for what I typically did, so I never returned to coding in a graphical environment again. When I needed work done on a small C program, I would turn to someone else to mess with the IDE.

Eventually, I moved to a pure 100% point-and-click development environment, where no coding was required, but I still needed to do substantial shell, nawk, and plsql scripting at a lower layer.

There are still some smaller C Programs as glue work for my needs, so I think I will take another look at DBXTool again!

Thanks for the efforts to find the people who were abandoned by Sun and attempt to bring them back into the fold!

David: Thanx for your comments. Looks like you never really left the fold.
