    Sin-Yaw Wang, a Beijing resident, is a father of 2 daughters and husband to a beloved wife. He was appointed VP position in March of 2005. Before that, he was Senior Director of Solaris Network & Security Technology. His organization developed part of Sun's revered Solaris operating systems in the areas of networking and security. He aslo chaired the committee that released Solaris 10 during its last 10 months.

    Prior to this, Sin-Yaw held several engineering director positions in Solaris, most notably being in charge of Solaris kernel that focused on resource management, server consolidation, fault and breach containment, and virtualization.

    Prior to joining Sun, Sin-Yaw worked for Adaptec as the director in charge of all system software for the SCSI product lines. Before that, he was the VP of engineering at Books That Work, a silicon valley start-up developing consumer software. He started his career as a software engineer in 1984.

    Sin-Yaw was born in Taiwan and left the island in 1982 after graudating from Tamkang University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. In US, he earned a master's degree in Manufacuring Technology from Arizona State University in 1984. While working in silicon valley, he received master degrees in Computer Science and Business Administration from Santa Clara University in 1990 and 1997. He has no plan for more degrees.
