Oracle knows that technology can help protect the planet, yet the world’s digital carbon footprint is increasing faster than ever. We are proud that some of our leading customers are taking the initiative to reduce their carbon footprint while improving the profitability and servicing of their operations. A prime example of this is SNCF, France’s national state-owned railway company.

SNCF migrated its PeopleSoft Enterprise Resource Planning services to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to improve services, optimize operation costs, enhance security, make work easier for users, and benefit its customers – all while significantly reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. Using Oracle’s data centers in Europe that are completely powered by renewable energy and SNCF’s energy efficiency optimization process, SNCF has become a source of inspiration for future projects. SNCF’s innovative approach was validated by Bureau Veritas, an independent company with carbon accounting expertise.
