Dian Fossey climbed into the remote mountains of Rwanda to study the area’s endangered gorillas in 1966 with a notebook and a pencil. Today, the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International (DFGFI) is using cutting-edge data collection and study tools to further her work and ensure the survival and revival of the species.
For 30 years, Oracle has been a proud funder of DFGFI and its protection of gorillas in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Since 2014, Oracle has hosted all DFGFI data—the world’s largest, most comprehensive longitudinal collection of data on any wild gorilla population—for free. Data is globally accessible to scientists and educational communities at no cost. DFGFI are sending gorillas to the cloud.
