Spending an Hour with Scott

The week was a whirlwind.  My staff came into town these week, from as far away as Israel, to work on completing our reorganization to build the next generation Sun Connection.  I also got to give a presentation on our new strategy to Jonathan and his senior staff, but the most memorable part of the week was that I got to spend an hour one-on-one with Scott.

I've spent a large portion of my professional career at Sun, but had never gotten to sit down and talk to Scott.  It turns out he's really the cool, down to earth guy he appears.  We had a great discussion about our next steps for connecting Sun's customers and Scott had a number of interesting suggestions.  He even had a great suggestion I'd never thought of on how to link our connected technology to what we're doing with NetBeans.  I'll have to follow up with my friends in the tools group about it.

Last recently saw this article in the local San Jose newspaper that seemed to give a good idea about our Chairman's character.  It's worth a read.
