Critical Patch Update for October 2015 Now Available

Robert Farrington
Applications Technology Integration

The  Critical Patch Update (CPU) for October 2015 was released on October 20, 2015.  Oracle strongly recommends applying the patches as soon as possible.

The Critical Patch Update Advisory is the starting point for relevant information. It includes a list of products affected, pointers to obtain the patches, a summary of the security vulnerabilities, and links to other important documents.

Supported products that are not listed in the "Supported Products and Components Affected" Section of the advisory do not require new patches to be applied.

Also, it is essential to review the Critical Patch Update supporting documentation referenced in the Advisory before applying patches, as this is where you can find important pertinent information.

The Critical Patch Update Advisory is available at the following location:

The next four Critical Patch Update release dates are:

  • January 19, 2016
  • April 19, 2016
  • July 19, 2016
  • October 18, 2016

Where can we get more information about terms and conditions of ACS (Advanced Customer Support) for CPUs for EBS 11i?

    Thank you.

    Rob,

The CPU patch (21520444) for Oracle Database 12.1.0.2 (Combo OJVM Patch Set Update (PSU) 12.1.0.2.5 and Database PSU 12.1.0.2.5) is not yet (as of 22:40 PM EST )released!!!

Any reason why it is delayed?

    Thanks

    Ramasamy

    Hello, Robert.

For your information: PSU combo for 12.1.0.2, Patch 21520444 is not shown neither during patch search, nor by URLs from MOS notes.

We hope it will become available soon.

    Thanks,

    Konstantin.

    Oleg,

Here are a couple of references that will help you learn more about ACS:

    1. ANNOUNCEMENT: Additional Coverage Options for 12.0.6 and 11.5.10 E-Business Suite Sustaining Support (My Oracle Support Doc ID 1596629.1).

    2. http://www.oracle.com/us/support/library/financials-legislative-updates-2051314.pdf

Customers who will still be on Release 11.5.10 in 2016 but have not yet upgraded to one of our premier support release versions are highly recommended to contract for the Tier 1 service offering.

Watch out for further annnouncements on this in due course.

    Hi, Jeff,

I'm sorry to hear that you've encountered an issue with this.

We can provide general conceptual guidance here, but I'm afraid that this blog isn't the best place to get technical support for specific issues like the one that you're working through.

Your best bet would be to log a formal Service Request via My Oracle Support (formerly Metalink) to get one of our specialists engaged.

Please feel free to forward your Service Request number to me if it gets stuck in the support process for some reason.

    Regards,

    Steven
