Release Update Packs 12.0.5 for Financials and HRMS Now Available

This announcement isn't really directly-related to the E-Business Suite technology stack, but it can't hurt to highlight this news here since it affects so many of our readers. Oracle Financials and Oracle Human Resources Management System (HRMS) have released two new product family Release Update Packs for E-Business Release 12.0.5. These cumulative product family RUPs include error corrections, statutory/regulatory updates, and functionality enhancements that were made available after the initial release of Oracle E-Business Suites 12.0.
The naming convention for E-Business Suite Release 12 until now has been that a "Release Update Pack" comprises bug fixes for all product families. These were called Consolidated Updates in Release 11i.
This is the first time I've seen the term "Release Update Pack" used to refer to fixes for a specific product family for Release 12. You should be aware that these latest 12.0.5 RUPs don't include fixes for any other E-Business Suite application modules except Financials or HRMS. Regardless of what they're called, R12 sysadmins can now download two new patchsets:
Oracle Financials Release Update Pack 12.0.5
This patch can be downloaded as Patch 6836355, and its contents are documented in Oracle Financials Software Updates, Release Update Pack 6 (Metalink Note 565898.1).
Oracle HRMS Release Update Pack 12.0.5
This patch can be downloaded as Patch 6610000, and its contents are documented in Oracle HRMS Software Updates, Release Update Pack 5 (Metalink Note 565977.1).
