JInitiator Upgrades Not Required for DST 2007 for Apps 11i
By Steven Chan - EBS-Oracle on Jan 12, 2007
Editor Feb 20 Update: Further testing has isolated Jinitiator upgrade requirements to the use of Gantt chart functionality in Oracle Field Service only. This is reflected in the February 20, 2007 version of Note 403311.1.
Editor February 14 Update: Further testing has identified a requirement for Jinitiator upgrades if you use the Gantt chart functionality in Oracle Field Service, Oracle Manufacturing Scheduling, and Oracle Enterprise Asset Management. For details, see the version of Metalink Note 403311.1 dated February 13, 2007.
We've covered the impact of US Daylight Saving Time changes for 2007 for E-Business Suite environments in previous articles. A few sharp-eyed readers recently dug up a related Metalink Note that caused them (in their words) to bang their heads on their desks.
No Head-Banging Required
Metalink Note 401155.1 made the alarming statement that the latest Jinitiator 220.127.116.11 was required to support the US Daylight Saving Time changes for 2007 for E-Business Suite environments.
That statement was incorrect. Jinitiator upgrades are not required to support the upcoming US DST 2007 changes for E-Business Suite Release 11i environments.
Recommended but Optional
It's always a good idea to keep up with the latest certified Jinitiator versions, since each new version generally provides fixes for stability and performance. However, to reassure you that the previous paragraph wasn't an error: Jinitiator upgrades are not required to support the upcoming US DST 2007 changes for E-Business Suite Release 11i environments.
