Discoverer 11g ( Certified with E-Business Suite

Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer is an ad-hoc query, reporting, analysis, and Web-publishing tool that allows end-users to work directly with Oracle E-Business Suite OLTP data.  We certified Discoverer 11g version (a.k.a. Patchset 1) with the E-Business Suite earlier this year.

Discoverer 11g version (a.k.a. Patchset 2) is now certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i and 12.

And here we are planning on going live with Disco at end of July :D

Can I pick go live dates or what?

I actually see this as being very shrewd, Jay. This means that you've got something else to start working on immediately after your go-live.

Hi, Adeneye,

I'm afraid that I don't have any visibility into Oracle University's handling of these things. I'd recommend contacting them directly:

Hi - is there a desupport date for Discoverer 11g? I ask because I have not heard or read of one, but others in my company say it is the EOY 2011. My question is for both the stand-alone and EBS versions. Thank you in advance.

Hi, Rob,

The Fusion Middleware division publishes their desupport dates here:

Click on the "Oracle Fusion Middleware Products" document for complete details. That document shows Discoverer 11g is covered by Premier Support until June 2014.

Hi - thank you very much for your help and the info.

Hi Steven,
I am trying to find documentation on the support dates for Disvoerer 10g. When I looked at the Fusion MiddleWare link I only found info on 11g support dates. I did see your post which has Disvoerer 10g desupported by the end of 2010, is this still accurate? Is there one central document that is updated regularly where I can go to support dates for all Oracle products (older versions & current versions)? Thanks for your help.

Hi, Sahar,

All of the support policy documents are here:

The document that describes Fusion Middleware (and Discoverer) is on that same page. Here's the direct link:

Lifetime Support Policy: Oracle Fusion Middleware Products

Page 8 of that document lists "10gR2 10.1.2.x *" -- where the "*" footnote lists Discoverer. So, that line shows Premier Support ending Dec 2011 with no Extended Support available.

Thanks Steven,
Exactly what I was looking for.

Hi Steven.

Are you able to confirm the Oracle Discoverer 11g and database certifications with EBS 12.0.6? We can run 10gR2 or 11g but Oracle recommends 11g. Is Disco 11g certified with Oracle EBS 12.0.6 and Oracle Database 10gR2?

Posted by Matt on November 01, 2010 at 11:37 AM PDT #

Hi, Matt,

Yes, all of the latest Discoverer 11g and database certifications will run with EBS 12.0.6.

From a database perspective, we strongly recommend either 11gR1 or 11gR2, since the 10gR2 database codeline is now in Extended Support.

Hi Steven,

Currently I have Discoverer 10g( on a standalone server RH linux 4(32bit) and integrated to Ebiz ...

Now we are at a point to decide as to whether we need to upgrade to for compatibility to Windows 7.0 / I.E 8 or to discoverer 11g as EOS for 10g is dec '2011
So would you be able to provide your inputs on the right path.
Does 11g require any seperate licensing factor ?
What's the compatible platform and space required ?

Hi, Skumar,

I'm afraid that I'm not a licencing specialist; I'm in Development. I'd recommend that you contact your Oracle account manager for assistance with licencing questions. He or she can review your existing licencing contracts and advise you on this.

For Discoverer platform and space requirements, see:

is discoverer certified with EBS Release 11i + ATG RUP 6?

Posted by guest on May 12, 2011 at 12:10 PM PDT #

Yes, I'd expect Discoverer to work with EBS and ATG Release Update Pack 6. However, you should note that Discoverer is now certified: I'd recommend using that latest Discoverer version with ATG Release Update Pack 7 ( Regards, Steven

Steven, i have two servers with ebs 11i, one for the database and one with the appl. what should i do to install discoverer? use the same server as appl? or a new one just for discoverer?

Posted by Alejandro on September 19, 2011 at 07:56 AM PDT #

It's technically feasible to put Discoverer on the same physical server that hosts your EBS mid-tier.

If your existing EBS application tier (mid-tier) server has enough spare capacity to handle the projected load from your Discoverer users, too, then you can do that.

Many customers have standalone servers that handle Discoverer reporting. The advantages of this are twofold: it reduces the risk of Discoverer workloads interfering with your production EBS users, and you can also independently scale up and configure that server.

Hi Steven,

Is Discoverer 10g/11g certified with PeopleSoft? Can we have Discoverer for Reporting in PeopleSoft? Please advise.

Posted by Ravi Musuku on November 01, 2011 at 02:49 AM PDT #

Hi, Ravi,

Glad to hear that you're interested in Discoverer. I'm part of the E-Business Suite division and don't have any visibility into PeopleSoft certifications.

Your best bet would be to log a formal Service Request via My Oracle Support (formerly Metalink) to get one of our PeopleSoft specialists engaged.

What's the latest release of Discoverer that's certified to EBS

Is there any serious talk of Discoverer going away?

Posted by guest on June 25, 2013 at 02:10 PM PDT #

The latest version certified is Discoverer

The Discoverer team has been advising all of their users to migrate to Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition for several years now.
