Applications Management and Change Management Packs Certified with Enterprise Manager Grid Control Release 5

Our E-Business Suite Applications Technology Group released a new product, the Application Change Management Pack (ACMP), and a new version of their Application Management Pack (AMP) for Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Release 4 earlier this month.  They've just followed this up with a new certification with Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Release 5.

Hi Steve,

We are fully licensed for E-business suite ( and OEM.

Question: Is "Application Change Management Pack 3.0" is part of the above licenses or we have to purchase it as a separate bundle.

Our CSI no.: 15803842.
Thanks in advance for your help and comment.

Regards, Kunal

Hi, Kunal,

I'm in Development, not Sales, so my grasp of licencing complexities is not strong. My superficial understanding is that you need to purchase a licence for the Application Change Management Pack 3.0. This is in addition to your E-Business Suite 11i and Oracle Enterprise Manager licencing.

That said, this kind of question is best-answered by someone in your Oracle Sales Manager.

Good luck with your evaluation of this new product.

Hello Steven,
We are testing AMP/ACP with /
ATG RUP 5 and AD.I.7. I like the fact that customisation can be applied through Custom Management Pack 3.0 but we are trying to apply customised code through ACP but keep stumbling that the Grid/OMS ACP says that the custom top is not regconised as a valid Custom top and will not apply the code. It completes as suceeded but does not apply the custom code to the custom top as expected. i.e will not deploy an rdf or fmb/fmx as does not recognise the cutom top in the application as a valid top in the application. The custom tops have being used within the application for some time and the code previously manually deployed works as expected. How does the ACP that runs adpatch check that the custom top is a valid top?
Does the application_id and the oracle_id need to be the same ?
Regards Colin.
We have OMS and Grid deployed as and have applie d the interop patches as per doc 812315.1. My question ids how is the ACP checking the tops in the application to come to the decision that the top is not relevant. I have tried splicing the custom top to the application to ensure the application is fully aware that this custom top exists but this does not seems to have helped,
I have an SR open but not yet resolved. Any help would be appreciated on this. SR Ref: 7680620.994

Hello, Ram,

The Applications Development Group has heard this before, but their current position is that there is insufficient customer demand to warrant building out functionality to control FND_LOBS table growth at present. If you're interested in this, I'd recommend that you log a formal Service Request with Oracle Support and ask that an enhancement request be logged for this functionality.

The more customers who chime in requesting this feature, the greater the likelihood that it will be implemented.

Hello, Colin,

I've passed this on to the Application Management Pack development team. Someone will be following up both here and directly with your Support Engineer assigned to your current Service Request to help with this one.

Hello Steven,
Thanks for the swift response to the question regarding AMP/ACMP 3.0 with11.5.10.2 on Grid/OMS
The initial problem appeared to be with adpatch not recognising the CUSTOM_TOP when built in the packged driver file of ACMP in upper-case. The next problem was that the files in the packaged driver custom package were not recognised as oracle files. To get around this the fmb and rdf in the custom driver file needed to be added to the $CUSTOM_TOP/admin/driver/xxtopfile.drv file. Was hoping this would have being included in the patch driver file that the ACMP packaged to apply - but appeared not to be the case. Any way with a custom top that is spliced into the application as an oracle product with a lower case referenced custom_top in the build of the custom packaged driver file and some manual intervention to add these files into the xxtopfile.drv file it works ?
I think this is a cool product that still needs some more development to improve its functionality for the client.
Kind Regards

Customization manager in ACP, allows you to package your own "oracle like" patches containing your custom files. You need a SRC area to act as a repository but there are some standards that the custom environment should meet. I would think that this might be one posible reason why you were not able to deploy them in your system.
I would suggest that you open a SR with Support so they can analyze further. They can even contact development if they detect that there is anything that Dev can do either to improve the documentation or create an eventual fix.

Does OAM 3.0 available on X86_64?

I login to and check R12.1 (X86_64) it only have OAM2.0 in it.

Posted by duffy on December 28, 2009 at 02:47 AM PST #

Hi, Duffy,

Is it safe to assume that "OAM" refers to Oracle Application Manager in this context?

If yes, I'm afraid that I don't have much visibility into the delivery vehicle for OAM 3.0 x86_64. Your best bet would be to log a formal Service Request via My Oracle Support (formerly Metalink) to get one of our Oracle Application Manager specialists engaged.

Posted by Steven Chan on December 28, 2009 at 04:54 AM PST #

Thanks for info. What I say "OAM" is "Oracle Application Management Pack for Oracle E-Business Suite". n E-delivery site X86_64 it only have OAM version 2.0. I want to "My oracle support" and download 8333939 (X86_64).

Can I just run "runInstaller" in this patch? Or I need install OAM 2.0 then apply this patch?

I was under the impression that all available ports for the Application Management Pack were available on E-Delivery. I'll ask someone on the Application Management Pack team to confirm that here.

I just check E-delivery site X86_64 OAm software. It still show NOV-15-2007.

click "Continue".
