Cloud-based rendering for the most demanding workloads

We’re always looking for innovative partners that allow us to offer our customers cutting-edge solutions. Our latest collaboration with fast-growing startup GridMarkets is a prime example. The partnership delivers an expanded set of virtual capabilities for managing rendering and simulation workloads with the GridMarkets platform running on Oracle Cloud infrastructure (OCI).

A leading rendering and simulation service, GridMarkets simplifies and accelerates compute-intensive workloads during animation rendering. The company has successfully streamlined and accelerated thousands of studio projects, working with independent artists, global production companies, and major studios and networks.

GridMarkets, part of Oracle for Startups, leverages OCI to deliver a broader array of comprehensive workflow resources with the highest levels of performance, security, and reliability. GridMarkets also participates with Oracle in industry events and co-selling opportunities to customers.

The Oracle and GridMarkets partnership provides leading animators, creators, and studios with the best solution for their rendering needs no matter how demanding the workload. Ross Brown, vice president of product marketing for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, said, “GridMarkets’ unique platform running on top of the highly secure and robust Oracle Cloud Infrastructure allows creators to do what they do best—create—and leaves the technology to us.”

As part of the partnership, GridMarkets is organizing a series of webinars around cloud rendering. For each webinar, a leading artist or creative executive will share their creative and animation passions and experience with rendering in the cloud. The webinars will run monthly and features artists such as Fabian Nowak, an internationally recognized award-winning visual effects artist known for his work on The Jungle Book, Avengers: Endgame, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Each webinar will also feature an executive from Oracle Cloud to talk about security and the importance of securing cloud submissions.

Webinar Series: Cloud Rendering and the Experiences of Acclaimed VFX Artists

GridMarkets and Oracle innovating together

Designed and built through close collaboration with VFX artists, the GridMarkets platform offers plug-ins supporting the most commonly used software applications for rendering, animation, and simulations, such as Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Cinema 4D, 3DS Max, and Blender. Running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, the GridMarkets platform provides a level of computing power typically beyond the reach of many studios with the ability to access thousands of CPU cores and GPUs running in parallel, both key benefits given the narrow time windows for most rendering submissions.

GridMarkets’ integration with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure addresses artists’ requirements for powerful computing, advanced security, and high reliability when it comes to rendering in the cloud.

As Cofounder and President of GridMarkets Mark Ross says, “Using our platform reduces the rendering window so studios and VFX artists can spend more time in the creative window perfecting their craft. Our goal is to alleviate that burden from a customer’s workload and help get their submission successfully across the finish line. The Oracle partnership accelerates our performance with the highest level of security and reliability.”

The partnership allows Oracle’s customers to easily leverage rendering services. On June 1, 2021, Google-owned rendering company Zync will be shut down. Current Zync users can quickly pivot to GridMarkets and not miss a beat while ensuring their workloads are running on the high-performance, secure Oracle Cloud
